19th Century Italian Pair of Painted Walnut Library Steps - Antique Book Shelfs

About the Item

An antique pair of 19th Century Italian library stairs with wide steps in the Baroque style and patinated in a warm natural colored light-grey, in good condition. These large and very sturdy bookcase stairs are made of hand crafted painted Walnut wood. Each feature three-steps have a high back with scrolls and Acanthus leaves and the typical Baroque style decoration. Functional and beautiful to look at. Minor fading, scratches due to age. Wear consistent with age and use. Circa 1860, Italy. Step: 30.5” W x 9.5” D.
