Antique Pair Victorian Mahogany Open Bookcases 19th Century

About the Item

This is a beautiful pair of antique Victorian mahogany open bookcase, Circa 1870 in date. The bookcases with elegant stepped rectangular cornices, and each with four adjustable shelves. The front of each shelf is fitted with the original brass studded leather decoration, and each bookcase has superbly hand carved corbeils on each side. They are raised on plinth bases. Add a touch of elegance to a special room in your home with this stunning pair of bookcases. THE BOTANICAL NAME FOR THE MAHOGANY THESE ITEMS ARE MADE OF IS SWIETENIA MACROPHYLLA AND THIS TYPE OF MAHOGANY IS NOT SUBJECT TO CITES REGULATION. Condition: In excellent original condition having been beautifully cleaned and waxed in our workshops, please see photos for confirmation.
