Antique Victorian Mahogany Two-Door Bookcase

This antique late Victorian mahogany bookcase is very fine quality and quite narrow from front to back. It’s in very good original condition and dates from the 1890-1900 period. The doors and central beading are reeded and the top of this bookcase has a shaped gallery. There are two adjustable bookshelves inside and it sits on a plinth base. When empty, this bookcase will tip forward when doors are open, that’s why there are brackets on the sides so it can be screwed to the wall. I believe that once there are plenty of books inside, their weight will stop it tipping forward. Measures: Width 53 inches, 134 cm Depth 10 inches, 26 cm Height 43 inches, 110 cm.
