We are delighted to offer for sale this stunning custom handmade in England one of a kind solid Cherry wood bookcase cabinet with 20mm thick tempered glass shelves This piece is a fine example of quality English craftsmanship, it was custom-made for a house in Wimbledon common then moved to a larger property in surrey, it was built by the contractors who managed the renovation works at that time and were clearly expert carpenters It has a continental contemporary almost Danish feel to me, the use of timbers and general lines / styling reminds me of those wonderful mid-century modern pieces that are so on trend right now The main support beams are all solid cherry wood, the shelves and main panels are all cherry wood veneer of the highest quality and cuts. The shelves as mentioned are 20mm thick tempered glass, this thickness (for those of you who don’t know much about glass) is absolutely mind blowing, it is huge, modern shelves are around 6mm tops, this is tempered glass so it won’t smash, every corner and edge has been tapered so there are no rough sharp sections, to have one of the small shelves made again new you would be looking at £300-£400 easily The condition is very fine, there are a couple of chips in the glass shelves on the corners or bottom, you can’t see them unless you take the shelves out. The large middle shelves have lost the veneer of the edges and there’s a small indentation on the top right corner on the base unit, otherwise it’s a fine looking thing The base unit comes with two shelves each precut for electrics as is the back board and side panels Dimensions: Height 231cm from top to bottom, the top section alone is 146cm Width 250cm Depth- 60cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point, if you would like any additional or specific measurements please ask Any questions please feel free to ask before you bid Delivery or collection: This item is available for collection from our Wimbledon warehouses SW19-3BE, we can have it delivered nationwide to include Scotland Wales and Ireland.
