About the Item

These unique pieces combine modern materials such as polyurethane and metal with polished ceramic coatings to transform a primitive design into a glossy and elegant work of art. Fred & Barney is part of Paleolite, an experimental collection of accessories that arise from Cibic’s research on Etruscan and pre-Columbian architectural languages, and from his obsession in collecting photos of stones and minerals to create collages. The objects are made with experimental materials, such as metal limes or super-light nebulized conglomerates. The bookshelf was part of Be Yourself to Shine. The exhibition, set in an 18th-century palace in the heart of Turin, merges historic architecture with contemporary design, creating a unique sensory journey. It showcases one-of-a-kind pieces and installations resulting from collaborations with young Italian artists and designers, exploring the relationship between art, materials, and emotion. Each work is conceived to integrate with the spaces, generating a dialogue between the past and the present. The exhibition also offers a reflection on the boundary between art and design, with pieces that transform everyday objects into artistic and sensory experiences. Open edition. Standard production time is approximately 8–9 weeks once current stock is sold out. One piece available for immediate delivery. For projects involving multiple units, production time may vary.
