We are delighted to offer for sale this monumental mid Victorian circa 1860 solid Walnut Library Study bookcase with cupboard base A truly staggering piece of furniture, you can fit an personal library for the whole family in this one piece of furniture, I’m sure even then you would struggle to fill it, I guess that’s why it's so popular to have ornate bookends and small statues and globes adoring the shelves as well, they fill the space! All the shelves are removable and fully height adjustable from top to bottom, the base has some nice storage cubby holes. In terms of the condition it has been deep cleaned, hand condition waxed and hand polished externally from top to bottom, the internals have been simply deep cleaned. The bookcase has the original, very honest patina which is exactly what collectors are looking for. There is one small piece of carving detail missing which I can have replaced for the cost price should the new owner wish Dimensions: Height 275cm top to bottom, base section alone 93cm, top section alone 172.5cm top cornice 11cm Width 319.5cm along the base skirting, 325.5cm along the top cornice Depth 43.5cm base, 44.5cm middle Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point This item is available for collection from our Wimbledon warehouses Condition: Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description around condition Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
