About the Item

A very fine and large Victorian mahogany breakfront bookcase and secretaire. The upper part has four compartments, the doors of which are glazed with their original plate glass revealing the adjustable shelving within, the doors themselves have ornate scrolls and leaf detail in the corners of the frames. The lower section divides into three parts. The central two-door cupboard, bearing the same ornate scroll detail, is flanked by a pair of further plate glass glazed doors with ornate scroll detail.
