About the Item

Mahogany bookcase by Waring & Gillows An early 20th century mahogany Sheraton style bookcase by Waring & Gillows. The bookcase has an astragal glazed two door cabinet top with three adjustable mahogany shelves. The base has a pair of recessed panel doors with oval panels of flamed mahogany in the centre and two drawers above. The bookcase is box wood strung and has satinwood cross banding to the doors, the drawers and the cornice. The pair of drawers are mahogany lined and have oval brass ring handles. The bookcase is made of solid mahogany throughout and is good quality, the plinth has some minor scuffing. (Circa 1900) Measures: height 214 cm (84.3 inches) Width 120 cm (47.2 inches) Depth 50 cm (19.7 inches).
