Omni Style Wall Unit Room Divider in Teak After George Nelson, Usa, circa 1960s

About the Item

A rare and exceptional wall unit designed with strong influences taken from George Nelson's Omni Wall Unit for Herman Miller. The systems, modular design that can be configured to your taste. The wall unit includes three bottom cabinets, two of which have sliding doors with adjustable interior shelves and one with three deep drawers. The room divider system also includes three upper cabinets, two of which have sliding glass doors with adjustable interior shelves, one cabinet with two doors with an adjustable interior shelf and a dropdown cabinet that works great as a bar cabinet or may double as a dropdown secretary desk. The cabinet retains its original patinaed brass pulls. The wall system also includes three shelves for open storage. All shelves and cabinets can be set at adjustable variable heights between tension poles which provide the structure for this cabinet system, circa 1960s. This piece comes to market once in a blue moon. Though this unit does show signs of vintage wear (such as scratches, minor veneer bubbling, a single water ring and multiple nicks) this extraordinary unit has plenty of life left in it. The steel poll uprights show only minor signs of wear such as nicks and light scratches. All drawers and doors open and close with ease and all shelves are adjustable. This superb wall unit is ultra-functional, structurally sound and ready for decades more of use.
