About the Item
An extraordinary near pair of oversized Regency astral glazed library bookcases c.1810.
Demonstrating a remarkable pair of full-length oval astragal glazed doors to each - with carved reeded detailing. The interior features a warm cadmium yellow paint, which wonderfully offsets the large mahogany glazed doors. Each pair of doors encloses a set of ten adjustable shelves with a fixed central divide to the interior.
The doors are flanked by richly carved reeded corinthian column pilasters. Raised on a plinth base housing drawers to each - displaying ebony inlaid detailing, with turned ebonised handles. Demonstrating inverted breakfront cornices above line and dot ebony inlaid friezes.
Due to the size of these bookcases, each comes apart into sections for ease of transport and manoeuvring into situ. Please do get in touch should you have any further questions regarding this, or need any additional measurements.
