Beautifully handcrafted and excellent condition two-piece Gothic bookcase. We are always on the lookout for top quality carved and handcrafted Gothic Revival antiques and to have found a bookcase of this size more than made our day. Bookcases are and have always been the most sought after pieces of furniture and we hardly ever find them in the Gothic style. This stunning, two piece example with its richly carved, church window like panels, its striking cast iron, golden painted lock plates and its amazing patina could not be in a better condition. Besides being an absolute joy to own and look at, this cabinet also is highly practical. All doors open and shut perfectly. There are shelfs behind the outside doors in the bottom part and in the middle are special wooden brackets for either hanging glasses onto or placing bottle necks into. This almost entirely made of solid oak bookcase also is as strong and stabile as the day it left the artisan's studio, which was about one hundred years ago. Because of its large size and design this remarkable cabinet can be used for all kinds of purposes and in the open space, displayed on the shelves you could also have picture frames or religious artefacts. No matter where you decide to place this Gothic work of art and no matter what you decide to use it for, this cabinet will never fail to attract attention.
