A very fine late 19th Century well figured rosewood breakfront open bookcase, beautifully hand carved with rich patination grain and with stunning marquetry detail and delicate line inlay throughout. This fabulous piece features a broken scrolling swan neck pediment with gorgeous foliate marquetry fan motif detail. Raised over a moulded stepped cornice above a panelled frieze with exquisite marquetry decoration of centred fans flanked with richly scrolling foliate motifs above a three section open breakfront bookcase with an arrangement of fifteen fitted shelves flanked with a further arrangement of fluted pilaster columns with further decorative marquetry foliate and bellhusk motif with line inlay, all raised on a conforming platform plinth base.
