About the Item

Add both surface space and graceful storage to a living or dining room with this elegant 18th-century French Buffet de Chasse. Hand-carved in Lyon circa 1760, the enfilade rests on six escargot feet below a shaped scalloped apron and features four serpentine doors, including a pair of central double doors with recessed molded panels. The beautifully contoured façade is topped by a shaped surface dressed with a hand-painted faux marble top, exhibiting soft grey and blue veining for a refined stone-like effect. A discreet, narrow drawer sits just beneath the top, ideal for flatware or linens, while the interior reveals generous shelving for additional storage. The buffet retains its original hardware and three functioning keys. It is finished in a light grey-blue and off-white palette with a richly rubbed patina that highlights the depth of its carved details. A superb example of provincial Louis XV craftsmanship, this antique sideboard combines sculptural form with practical elegance, perfect for a refined French country interior. Measures: 59.5″ W × 25.75″ D × 36.5″ H.
