19th Century French Black Forest Carved Bleached Oak Four-Door Buffet Enfilade

About the Item

Decorate a ranch or hunting lodge with this important antique four-door sideboard. Crafted in France, circa 1870, the highly detailed buffet with curved sides stands on a wide bottom plinth. The long cabinet features four carved drawers across the front decorated with floral and geometric motifs, and dressed with intricate bronze pulls. The four doors are heavily carved in high relief; both center door panels are decorated with hunting dogs with a bird in their mouth, a farmhouse and foliage in the background. The curved left door features a wicker basket filled with a bundle of wheat, a hat and a harvesting scythe under the traditional Louis XVI ribbon bow. The right doors is embellished with a vase filled with grapes and other fruit, and features a similar carved bow at the top. The inside reveals shelving for ultimate storage. The large and elegant enfilade is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a rich bleached oak patinated finish. Place this spectacular Louis XIII buffet in a breakfast or dining room! Three keys included. Measures: 83" W x 23" D x 37" H.
