About the Item
Antique Grand Gothic Rustic Whitewashed Buffet was fashioned from thick planks & timbers of solid oak to last for centuries! Subtle Gothic influence in the carvings of the panels provides just the right Old World masculine touch, with cast iron strap hinges, ring pulls and shield-shaped key guards to complete the look. Capacious storage is revealed behind the yawning cabinet doors and larger-than-typical drawers. Note the pegged mortise & tenon joinery, the extensive dovetailing, and the intriguing hand-forged hooks on the sides, useful for a variety of purposes. The latch lock mechanisms are visible on the inside, too, which only adds to the overall effect. Painstakingly whitewashed by our professional in-house staff, we have provided a finish that is perfect for today's more light and airy decors, while still enhancing the intrinsic beauty and patina of the piece!
