About the Item

A wood and marble art deco buffet / sideboard « Built by John », early 20th century. Featuring hand-carved rosewood and mahogany construction, original brass hardware, and green marble top. Note the maker’s mark which includes «since 1891». Patina throughout but no glaring flaws. Authentic buffet is from the late Biedermeier / mid-19th century and was made of softwood. The furniture has a wonderful old patina which was only cleaned and re-oiled. The buffet still has the original locks and glass panes installed. The locks are functional.
