French Early 19th C. Bleached Cherry Wood Buffet Console W/Diamond Panel Accents
About the Item
A French bleached and painted cherry wood buffet cabinet from the early 19th century. This period Neoclassical cabinet from France, just shy of 6 feet in length, features a rectangular-shaped top with round profiled front corners that project outward, above a case which houses three diamond-panel front drawers set horizontally across the top (perfect for storing flatware), over three recessed panel doors, flanked within rounded column side posts. The cabinet is presented upon bracket style feet. The bleached cherry wood is complimented with a custom wash of color to accentuate the diamonds and various trim pieces. This early 19th century French console cabinet, with its great style and storage potential, would work well in a dining area as a buffet, or would be equally as nice used in a living room as a sideboard.

This antique cabinet from France features the original marble top, rectangular in shaped with rounded front corners, atop the wooden case which houses a pair of half-sized drawers set across the top, over a pair of nicely carved recess-panel doors, set within rounded front side posts (each carved with an elongated recessed panel). Both of the beautifully carved panel doors have curved top edges, each making up one half of a gently sloped arch, adding subtle fluidity to this piece. There are is a rectangular-shaped recessed panel at each chest side. The cabinet is raised on rounded feet at front (an extension of the front side posts) and squared feet at rear. The original merlot colored marble is complimented with a custom blue/gray finish with hints of cream and a taupe accent trim. This antique painted and carved wood cabinet from France has a rectangular-shaped top with rounded front corner edges, which rests above a case of fitted with a pair of doors that arch together at center, and raised upon cabriole feet. Each door is adorn with shapely raised-panels within their centers, and flanked within rounded side posts carved with an elongated oval panel and thick acanthus leaf towards the skirt. The beautiful paneling continues at underside of top front, and either cabinet side. The skirt is exquisite, and pierce carved with leafy c-scrolls along the front with scalloped sided. A lovely scored diamond and dot/floral pattern adorns the recessed areas about the front side of the cabinet, and raised-panel sides flank each end. The skirt has straight lined molding and the piece is presented upon block feet. The pair of doors open to reveal storage within, and a single shelf at the middle. A beautiful muted blue/green coloring makes up the primary palette of this chest, with some hints of taupe about the accent trim, and wood showing in various areas.
