French Painted Credenza Console W/Drawers & Arched Panel Doors, Mid-20th Century

About the Item

A French painted sideboard cabinet from the mid 20th century. This mid-century cabinet from France, over 6.5 feet in length, features a rectangular-shaped top with overhanging, molded edge, atop a case which houses three panel-front drawers set horizontally with three door beneath. Each door is arch-shaped (with the arch design continuing onto the raised-panel front), and open to reveal a shelf and plentiful storage within. This piece has a custom pale gray/blue wash which still shows much of the natural wood grain, with a light blue accent color on the trim. This mid 20th century French console cabinet, with it's great length and storage potential, would work well in a dining or kitchen area as a buffet, or perhaps as a nice storage piece for a family room.

    An Italian carved and painted wood credenza from the 18th century. This antique cabinet from Italy has a rectangular-shape, with front corners convexly scalloped inward, giving this piece a lovely shaped. The skirting is heavily molded, and this chest is raised upon carved bracket-style feet which give open arch-shaped designs at the underside.   • Handsome 18th Century Italian Carved-Walnut Credenza Cabinet

    An Italian carved walnut wood buffet credenza from the 18th century. This antique sideboard from Italy features rich walnut wood which has been carved with raised decorative cartouche plaques, in varying designs, about the front face. This piece has a rectangular-shaped top which slightly overhangs the case that is fitted with three small drawers set horizontally above a pair of doors at bottom (which open to a shelf on the inside, maximizing the storage potential of this piece). This chest is presented upon a pair of rail legs at either end with accolade carved skirt, turning to bracket-style front feet, and a single shapely carved foot/brace at front center of skirt that adds just enough lift/space between the case and the floor. The dark, rich wood has a wonderful old patina throughout; a showing of its centuries old age. Note that there have been prior repairs at the side and there is a slight bowing at top.
