French Renaissance Style Buffet a Deux Corps in Carved Walnut, circa 1880

About the Item

A lovely Belle Époque buffet in walnut in the style of Henri II of France with carvings of putti on the upper door panels, one holding a sickle and a bundle of wheat, and the other resting on a wine barrel while holding a cornucopia of grapes. Embellishments include well-articulated carvings on the frieze, drawer fronts and doors, with fluted and turned columns flanking both cabinets and offering two adjustable interior shelves above and one below. Offers a small exposed gallery for plates. Note: You should always request a shipping quote.
