French Walnut Carved Buffet
About the Item
The top of this buffet has an inlaid marquetry center panel with a shaped molded top. The steel fretwork handles, escutcheons, and large barrel escutcheons are original. The front is profusely carved with floral swags, baskets of fruit, and a classical urn in the central apron. Three doors have shaped raised panels framed with carved moldings. The sides have shaped raised panels. The corners are carved with leaves, berries, and wheat motifs and terminate in a scrolled foot with carved acanthus leaves.
