Late 19th Century Parisian Louis XVI Style Mahogany and Ormolu Mounted Buffet
About the Item
A very high quality late 19th century Parisian Louis XVI st. plum pudding mahogany and ormolu mounted buffet, signed "Haentges Frères, Paris'. The four door and four drawer buffet is raised by solid mahogany topie fluted legs ending with ormolu sabots. Above is the mottled frieze below the two inner interlocking doors with central raised panels and outer mottled borders. Adorning the doors are richly chased ormolu keyhole escutcheons and lower triple ormolu mounts. The outer reeded doors are flanked by fluted columns. The drawers are decorated by ormolu pulls and oval ormolu rosettes. With the original mottled edge Sarrancolin marble top. All original gilt and hardware.
