About the Item
The Althea cabinet is crafted from quarter sawn red oak for the cabinet sides - which is not typical of how one normally sees red oak. The result is an interesting grain pattern that is familiar but wholly unique. The back is crafted using rough sawn plantation teak which is complimented but the solid heavy walnut doors. The distinct characteristics of the rough sawn lumber housed in an intricate and finely made cabinet creates an organic but controlled experience.
The cabinet is also not short of fine carpentry details. Althea features subtle and beautiful wood joinery and varying thicknesses of wood to create an interesting composition.
