ANTIQUE "Shop of the Crafter" Small Cabinet WITH INLAY - Stickley Era - W7315

About the Item

ANTIQUE Arts & Crafts "Shop of the Crafter" Small Cabinet - Stickley Era - WITH WOOD INLAY. This is a SUPERB Mission Arts and Crafts Liquor cabinet from the early 1900s by " Shop of the Crafter." This is a PERIOD piece, not a reproduction. It is in good condition! It has a SUPERB selection of quarter sawn oak with the original black fumed finish. The cabinet comes with two original shelves inside, with bottle holders and a holder for glasses. The outside has great inlay. It's rare to find one with inlay. There is a great looking zinc metal strap hinge on top and bottom. As you can see in the pictures, a small area (2” x 2”) of wear on top of the original fumed black finish. we think we will add black color to this spot. All the original tacks are present and all with original patina and they are on the front, five on each side as pictured. We guarantee the cabinet is in good condition. Often the inlay is lost after many years but that’s not the case with this cabinet. This piece was sold in the mid-1970s in Sotheby in NY for a relatively high price to a man who was just starting to collect Arts and Crafts furniture. It is STURDY & STRONG and ready to use in your home. PLEASE NOTE: We offer items you do nor see much around, we use to sell in NYC in the early 1970s but now we are in central PA. We DO NOT have here $40K rent a month and we offer QUALITY items on 1stDIBS for low prices and GREAT condition. We see lots of fake around, sellers offer as STICKLEY but the are just STICKLEY STYLE. We find 1st Dibs the place to offer our items since they are the BEST. You can check ANY item we offer before you purchase on 1s Dips, sure you need to pay to Dibs. Dimensions: Height - 46.5 in The top is narrow - 11 in x 11 in The bottom width is 14.5 inches and the depth at the bottom is 15 inches. We will ship this piece either directly to your home (in Northeast US) or via freight. (You can also pick it up at our retail shop.) It will then be delivered to a freight terminal near you where you must then pick it up. Unless the piece is delivered directly to your home, it must be picked up at the freight terminal. We will send you contact information for the terminal, along with documents showing the tracking number. *** CONDITION: We do not deal in "Estate Condition" or "As Is" pieces. Unless there is an issue/concern/defect noted in the description, the buyer can be assured that there are none. Many times furniture pieces sold in "Auction" circumstances have problems, such as weakness in the structure, replaced parts, poor repairs, amateur glue or finish work, or veneer lifting/missing. We do not deal in "Flea Market" type items. RESTORATION: When Restoration is needed, we employ an experienced restoration technician and/or a professional artist. Traditional methods and materials are utilized to remedy any concerns. Hide glue was used during construction of furniture in the early 1900s. Such glue deteriorates over time, often creating a need for reworking in order for furniture to continue to be sturdy and strong. Furniture not properly restored does not honor the piece, nor protect the financial investment made by the buyer. SHIPPING & HANDLING: Our items are packed with extreme care by on-site staff, using sturdy containers and excessive fill. We work hard trying to ensure that shipped items reach our customers without damage.
