Antique Swedish Folk Art Solid Pine Cabinet

About the Item

Antique folk art cabinet from Sweden made during the first years of the 19th century, around 1810. The cabinet is made by hand in solid pine. The cabinet has a rustic surface with bare pine wood where the grain of the wood is visible. The joints are also visible which shows the craftsmanship of the piece. Made in two parts. The interior has decorative paint as well as a shelf for spoons at the very top. The lower cabinet has two large drawers, both in functional condition. The cabinet also has the original lock which is functional. There is a smaller loss of material on the edge of the pediment, see detail picture. The frame measures 201 cm tall and 113 cm wide, the pediment measures 135 cm across.
