About the Item

Attributed to Giuseppe Parvis (Egyptian/Italian 1831-1909), circa 1880. Two part form, tall architectural framed mirror with hardwood, bone, ebony and mother of pearl inlays, pierced and relief carved panels, the lower back splash with intricate spindle turnings in a geometric design, note the verso of the upper arched panel with interior checkered inlay which is reflected in the mirror, flanked by two star shaped shelves, the base with central and banded star pattern inlays, two upper small drawers with relief carving and star inalys flanking a carved and ebonized Arabic panel, lower shelf with triple arched panels, turned spindle gallery, the bottom shelf with repeating star inlays, paneled back with inlays, turned ebonized feet. Original purchase receipt from Lafayette Antiques Noting Circa 1880.
