About the Item
Beautiful Small sideboard, cupboard, English oak cabinet Richly molded and carved.
Opens with 2 doors in the upper part and 2 doors in the lower part.
In the style of Holland & Sons.
The sculptures are in eben.
The sculpted medallions on the doors of the upper part represent the seasons, Spring and summer in the form of Nymphs. One of the Young Women Carrying Wheat is a sensual allegory of the summer season, summer and the other half-naked young woman with a drape and fruit is an allegory of spring. These magnificent nymph sculptures are antique style.
The fittings are in gilded brass.
The piece of furniture is elegantly carved and molded at the top and bottom.
The whole thing is very elegant. The cabinet is an ideal size to fit into any room.
The Neo Renaissance style appears contemporary with the accession of Louis Philippe (1830 - 1848) with Inspirations in the Renaissance, Henri II and Italian Renaissance Styles.
