Danish Walnut 19th-century escritoire / Secretary, Victorian style

About the Item

This 19th-century secretary desk, also known as an escritoire, is a stunning piece crafted from exquisite burr veneer with rich grain patterns and a warm glow throughout. Reflecting Victorian elegance, it commands attention in any room. Inside, the desk features small, finely inlaid drawers, while the strong, heavy drop-down front provides a spacious and sturdy writing area, supported by a durable metal frame. The cabinet is constructed in three parts—a top, a middle section with a door, and a base with legs—that can be disassembled without tools. Despite its age, the desk is in excellent condition, with only minor blemishes that do not affect its functionality or appeal. It stands solidly with its full weight, ensuring durability and stability. Although the key doesn’t lock the small door, it can still be used to open it. This impressive piece, originating from Denmark, combines decorative beauty with practical storage. The height of the desk is:
