Early 19th century original painted tuna region Swedish cabinet

About the Item

We are pleased to offer this rare piece of traditional furniture circa 1801. This piece was made and painted in a village called tuna (tuna måleri), close to dalarna and hälsingland.  This type of paint work was only done for a period of around 10 years. Original paintwork in desirable blue shades.  Top section with 2 fixed shelves and 2 fitted drawers, inscribed on the doors 'anno 1801' and initials on the right hand door. Bottom double door cupboard opens to reveal a single fixed shelf.  Standing on original bracket feet. Obvious wear to paintwork, very minor losses to woodwork.  1 replaced handle to internal drawer. Stunning piece.
