Early 20th-Century Antique Japanese Table-Top Tansu
About the Item
An antique Japanese Tansu with soulful Wabi-Sabi. It appears to be made of Elmwood with finely engraved brass hardware that has a subtle green patina, with an overall soft luster to the wood. This piece fits beautifully atop a console behind a study desk or on a nightstand, even more wonderful on a kitchen counter. A lovely detail to note is that the back-side of the piece is fully finished. All compartments and drawers work beautifully.
