About the Item

Elegant Neoclassical Style Inlaid Demilune Cabinet, Late 20th Century A beautifully crafted demilune side cabinet in the refined neoclassical taste, veneered with a harmonious palette of figured woods and decorative inlays. The bow-fronted form is fitted with a pair of cupboard doors, each adorned with oval medallions and classical urn marquetry in contrasting timbers. The segmented top features a radiating fan motif, likely inlaid with satinwood and olive wood, and is banded with a fine crossgrain border. The whole is raised on square tapering legs in keeping with classical proportion. The piece was removed from a distinguished London residence furnished with examples by Brights of Nettlebed and Theodore Alexander. While unlabelled, the quality of the craftsmanship and materials is entirely consistent with such makers — and it displays the same attention to detail, traditional construction, and timeless elegance. Internally, the cabinet is fitted with a shaped shelf. The scale and finish make it ideal for use in a formal hallway, dining room, or drawing room setting. Dimensions: Width: 125 cm (49.2 in) Depth: 52 cm (20.5 in) Height: 93.5 cm (36.8 in) Condition: Very good condition with minor surface marks and small areas of wear to the top and edges, consistent with light domestic use. Structurally sound, clean, and ready to place.
