About the Item

A European early 18th century Baroque "Kas" or "kast" cabinet. This large-sized period Baroque cabinet features a nicely molded and overhung cornice, atop a pair of doors which are flanked within stepped-out Corinthian carved pilasters. The base is heavily molded, and is raised upon bun feet. The paneled doors open to reveal plentiful storage within, and lock with a single escutcheon placed within the center column. This natural wood cabinet has a wonderful patina throughout, with darker areas emphasizing the Corinthian carvings, and visually grounding the base. This cabinet breaks down into seven pieces, having the ability to be packed flat (though please note this piece will take several strong individuals to safely re-assemble). This Northwestern European Baroque kast, from the early 1700s, with it's endless storage potential, will add a stately elegance within any room.
