French 18th Century Louis XV Period Tulipwood Parquetry Encoineur
About the Item
An elegant and most decorative French 18th century Louis XV period Tulipwood and marble encoignure corner cabinet. The corner cabinet is raised by finely tapered feet with pierced ormolu foliate sabots. Above the arbalest shaped frieze are two doors each richly decorated with wonderfully executed parquetry designs of charming lattice patterns. The doors each display foliate ormolu keyhole escutcheons and open to reveal two shelves. Above is the original thick Brèche d’Alep marble top with a beautiful mottled border. All original gilt throughout.
