French Directoire Buffet in the manner of Jacob-Desmalter
About the Item
A superb antique French Directoire buffet in the manner of Jacob-Desmalter, the “ebeniste" for Napoleon I. This classical piece is extremely well crafted, the primary wood is a Cuban flamed mahogany with oak as a secondary wood. It has been finished with a lustrous ebonized French polish. We love the rich ornamentation of decorative bronzes and gilt bronze feet. This fine cabinet features a large dovetailed drawer and is topped with an intact Pietra Verde marble slab.
