French Empire Gentleman's Cabinet / Chest with Soldier Motifs 19th Century

About the Item

Impressive French Empire Egyptian Revival Gentleman's Cabinet / Chest with carved Caryatides Soldier Motifs on Paw Feet was made in the early 19th Century. This Elegant French Empire Gentleman's Cabinet has beautiful Flame Mahogany Veneered Wardrobe Doors. A pair of Fine Chased Bronze Ormolu Escutcheon with Scrolls, Palm Fronds, and Pineapple Motifs are mounted to the doors. The doors are flanked by Regal Gilt Caryatides Soldier Motifs. Above the soldiers is a Figural Flame Grain Mahogany Drawer with Fine Chased Bronze Ormolu Floral Mounted Handles holding Double Cornucopia Drop Pulls. The Drawer also has a Fine Chased Bronze Ormolu Escutcheon Mount with a central rosette flanked by Anthemion's inside Laurel Wreaths beside Fig & Lily Wreaths with Pineapples on the ends. The Egyptian Revival Cabinet sets on a Mahogany Plinth with Gilt Verde Paw Feet in the front and Mahogany Veneered upside down Obelisk Feet in the back. The Classical Gentleman's Cabinet has a replaced Black Granite Top. There are three shelves adjustable shelves inside the Cabinet.
