Dimensions- H: 63in W: 72in D: 19in This French inlaid Chinoiserie cabinet wardrobe armoire signed Maison Forest was built to last! Maison Forest was established at 14 rue Pierre-Picard in 1883 and at 31 rue Cambaceres, Paris. The furniture produced by the firm stands out for its high quality gilt-bronze mounts and for its notable ébénisterie and fine decoration. If you look at the photos provided, you not only see the intricate Chinoiserie or japanned Panel on the door, but also the greek key design done in Bronze ormolu as well as the inlay on the front and Carrara marble tops that make this piece special! Maison Forest is one of the most famous french cabinet makers of the 19th and early 20th century and their quality level is up to par with other cabinet makers such as: Francois Linke, Paul Sormani, Maison Krieger and many more. This cabinet would be a wonderful addition to any entryway, bedroom, office or place of your choosing and will without a doubt be a conversation starter at your next gathering or event. This is a piece that can be passed down through generations and we believe will continue to appreciate in value. This is not a piece you want... It's a piece you need. The cabinet is in good antique condition and has been french polished within the last year. A dying trade that is very time consuming and consists of professionally putting on hundreds of layer of thin finish by hand using shellac just as the cabinet makers did when it was originally made.
