About the Item

Granpiano is a piece of furniture that comes from the hand of the couple Lella & Massimo Vignelli and formally summarizes the whole philosophy of the Vignellis, pure geometric shapes and essential elements linked by a relationship of perfect proportions. The understated and severe image that distinguishes this piece of furniture made of fine Mocassar ebony wood requires special care in woodworking in order to achieve clean and uniform edges without edging. In fact, wood thicknesses never appear because the joints are expertly made at 45 degrees. The "block" conceals within it two large vertical side elements with push & pull opening with an internal shelf and centrally two large drawers one of which has a fine pull-out tray ideal for storing cutlery. The Vignellis' timeless style, so uncluttered but at the same time perfectly accomplished, reveals as much as ever a sophisticated formal aspect focused on size and balance between proportions. Granpiano is correlated with certificate of authenticity issued by Bernini.
