Italian Hand Crafted Lombardy Cabinet on Stand Center Mirror and Etching Details
About the Item
This cabinet is a showstopper - 19th Century Italian Cabinet on Stand.
Every inch is met with careful and beautiful architectural detailing.
From the top on either side are two secret, with hidden release, boxes for valuables, The center piece, with a key reveals another box for storage and a framed and beveled mirror.
Below there are 19 openings. 16 are drawers with metal lion pulls. Each door has with a scene of hunting, gathering, animals, all etched into bone fronts. The wood is Ebony or black lacquer and with outline details. Two additional drawers are hidden for valuable pieces such as jewelry or documents.
The middle door opens with a key; each side is flanked with etched Mermaids in bone. Inside the locked door is a hall of mirrors with columns and black and bone tile flooring.
The piece sits on a four legged outlined base and divides into two pieces for easier transportation.
This is, no doubt, a very special piece and the craftsmanship is impeccable. Each drawer has a number stamped into the back for placement.
This piece is a compliment and show piece to any room it occupies. The museum Quality age and design represent the best in Italian craftsmanship.
