This is an old black cabinet called " Tansu" in Japan.
It was used in the Tohoku region of Japan around the Meiji period and was placed in the attic of a thatched-roofed house for a long time.
The material is made of cedar.
The combination of a large drawer and a vertical bar's sliding door has an impactful appearance and is a rare design.
It is speculated that it was probably made by the landlord at that time.
For a long time, it turned into a natural black color due to the influence of soot in the hearth.
It is a natural color that cannot be expressed in a new product, and it seems to be an art that changes and is expressed naturally with long-term use by adding scratches and peeling paint.
You can place it as a sideboard.
Although it is a simple design, it is an item that is quietly assertive and has a sense of presence.
