Japanese Antique Black Tansu / Chest of drawers Cabinet / 1912s-1926s Wabi-sabi

About the Item

This is an old Japanese cabinet. It is made of pine and cedar, and on the front of the drawer is written ancient Japanese numerals. From the top, "No. 1", "No. 2", "No. 3" and "No. 4" are numbered. It was used in confectionery stores, and the letters "confectionery" and the place name of the store are written on both sides. It probably connected two cabinets of the same type and was used as a counter in the store. The old iron of the time is used for the handle. It seems that it was originally painted green, but it seems that it was used by painting it black from the top on the way. In the black, there is some green paint left that seems to be old paint. It is a furniture that allows you to feel the beauty of wabi-sabi in the good old days of Japan. There is also a depth, and the top board is spacious. It can also be used as a counter for one person.
