About the Item

This vintage cabinet was crafted in the Early Showa Period (1926–). Made from Japanese cedar with a black finish, the surface shows a gently lived-in patina that lends quiet wabi-sabi character without visual weight. Behind the glass sliding doors are two wooden shelves, creating three tiers for display and storage—ideal for ceramics, tea ware, glassware, small books, and everyday objects while keeping dust at bay. The glass has a traditional wavy quality, offering a softly diffused, slightly distorted view that adds a gentle, nostalgic warmth. An easy way to introduce a quiet Japanese note into your space, it pairs naturally with both contemporary and traditional interiors and styles cleanly against a wall, in a dining room, or a study. Cleaned and disinfected with a non-toxic solution. The doors move smoothly. As a vintage piece, minor scratches and marks may be present, each adding to its unique charm and the story it tells over time. It has been carefully inspected and remains in excellent vintage condition, with natural signs of age that enhance its character. The interior dimensions are as follows (in inches, with centimeters in parentheses): Interior behind glass sliding doors (three tiers / two shelves) Top: W44.8" × D12.2" × H10.6" (113.8 cm × 31.0 cm × 27.0 cm) Middle: W44.8" × D12.4" × H9.1" (113.8 cm × 31.5 cm × 23.2 cm) Bottom: W44.8" × D13.4" × H11.1" (113.8 cm × 34.0 cm × 28.2 cm) Weight :54.0lbs(24.5kg) Shipping Information We ship from Japan.
