About the Item

A monumental late 18th century George III period mahogany breakfront library cabinet with burled detailing in warm towns of brown. The upper section has electang intact glass doors with detailed fret work creating geometric designs. The lower section has doors of figured mahogany. The cabinet steps back on each side of the center section on a corresponding stepped plinth base. No obvious markings present on the cabinet pieces. In very good condition. Some gentle wear consistent with age and use. Create an instant library! The entire cabinet steps back on each side of the center section on a corresponding stepped plinth base. This fine antique, 11-foot-wide cabinet would provide both display and storage as well as an architectural effect to any space. For sale is a top quality George III mahogany breakfront bookcase. The top of the bookcase has flour glazed doors, each opening to reveal a fitted interior. The centre doors open to display various pigeon holes over several drawers. Each side door encloses two shelves, over two sliding trays, above two drawers. Below this, the base section has two ebony and mahogany cupboard doors to the centre, flanked by four mahogany lined, graduated drawers on either side.
