About the Item

A well crafted Danish modern Randers solid oak wooden side cabinet with locking tambour front. A Scandinavian classic with strong, simple lines, rich antique wood tone, wonderful tiger oak grain pattern and warm, elegantly aged patina that will stand out in any interior. Practical and charming, having paneled sides, a wooden tabletop, over the tambour roll down shutter style single door, with working original lock and key. The door slides smooth and the key turns freely. The front opening to reveal five generously sized sliding pull-out tray form drawers, that make searching or sorting through paperwork a breeze. Adding a touch of sophistication and setting this remarkable ninety year old rare cabinet apart from cabinets of similar design, it's rising on Ogee bracket feet. Distinguished from other legs by their elegant forms and unique application, bringing a graceful dignity to a rather commercial piece. Retaining the original manufacturers plaque, marked: Thor Harder, Kontorforsyning (office supplies) Randers. Circa 1930s, Denmark Versatile. Can be used many ways including storing and organizing important papers in a home office or business, for sheet music or photograph storage, as a side table, end table, bedside nightstand, jewelry stand, lamp or hall table and many more ways. Dimensions (approx): 34" High, 19.5" Wide, 15.5" Deep Moderately restored, retaining some character marks, delivered cleaned, waxed, polished and ready for immediate use. Great condition. Original, vintage condition. Very solid/sturdy and structurally sound. Age appropriate wear and tear. Loss of one drawer, the previous owner misplaced it after removing to allow larger items be stored.
