Mid-Century Modern Scandinavian Cabinet and Sideboard by Carl Axel Acking

About the Item

Large and exceptional midcentury cabinet by swedish designer Carl Axel Acking for Bodafors. The only example that we are aware of on the market. This cabinet has an exceptionally elegant form. Curved lines soften the corners, and the three doors display a striking geometric design created with the horizontal and vertical positioning of the veneered panels. The cabinet has its original brass hardware also with softened curved edges to follow the overall form, and the original key remains with the piece allowing both sides of the cabinet to be locked securely. The three doors open to reveal shelving and storage space on the left and right. Additionally there are five drawers in varying sizes within the central section. The cabinet stands on four legs. It is fully restored and is an example of fine craftsmanship and quality. It is labelled Bodefors.
