About the Item

The Mosaic dresser in selenite, bronze and American walnut demonstrates an elegant use of the most beautiful materials found in nature that furniture designers have to work with. This Mosaic Dresser is configured with two banks of four drawers each. Drawer fronts are Selenite in a Mosaic pattern with bronze inlay, bronze edging and bronze pulls. Drawer boxes are dovetailed solid walnut with soft-close hardware. This cabinet offers unlimited options for both external and internal configurations based on the proposed use. The Mosaic cabinet can be used as a dresser, an armoire, a wardrobe, a china cabinet, highboy or any use required by the end user. The geometric pieces of selenite are carefully outlined with inlaid polished bronze strips, setting each individual piece in a frame of its own. The bronze is left unfinished, allowing it to develop into a lovely patina over time. The American Walnut case in its warm brown tones, enhances the beauty of the selenite and bronze. The selenite we work with ranges in appearance from crystal clear, to a silky or pearly translucent white. Its beauty is achieved from the layers of crystal that build to form a pool of naturally occurring depth in its clarity. It is responsibly sourced from the legal custodian and caretaker of a large quarry in the United States. We request specimens that are selected based on their size and translucency for the look we are trying to achieve. However, the very unique qualities of each crystal are evident as each has a different formation from the other. This piece is substantial in its weight and presence. The hardware and supports for all parts are carefully and specifically utilized in this piece to ensure smoothness as well as durability. Selenite is limited to being sourced only a few times a year, so these beautiful pieces of furniture are often times a wonderful thing to wait upon.
