Qing Dynasty 19th Century Hand-Painted Cabinet with Original Red Lacquer

About the Item

A Chinese Qing Dynasty period cabinet from the 19th century with original red lacquer and gilt hand-painted court scenes décor. Created in China during the Qing Dynasty in the 19th century, this cabinet features its original red lacquer serving as a perfect background to the gilt décor showcasing various court scenes taking place in mountainous landscapes: male figures devising in front of a pagoda, an elder with his cane crossing a wooden plank to reach a mountain while behind him others are walking on a bridge, are among the characters that one will discover. Two doors, fitted with ornate brass hardware, open to reveal inner shelves and hidden drawers offering convenient storage opportunities. Raised on four straight feet with carved scrolling apron in the front, the cabinet showcases a darker lacquer on the side panels. With its clean lines and elegant gilt décor, this Qing Dynasty 19th century cabinet will bring a pop of color to any home, perhaps placed in a bedroom, living room or foyer.
