About the Item

A Chinese Qing dynasty period ningbo cypress cabinet from the 19th century with brass hardware. Created in China during the Qing Dynasty in the 19th century, this ningbo cabinet features a linear silhouette perfectly complimented by a dark brown finish contrasted by lighter accents. Made of ningbo cypress, the cabinet showcases two doors made of a series of slightly recessed panels visually leading our eyes to the central one. Fitted with elongated brass hardware including ornate etched pulls on backplates, these doors open to reveal inner shelves, a long hidden drawer and a lower compartment. The cabinet is raised on four straight legs connected to an apron with tapering lines in the front, while the sides each present a simpler apron. The back showcases a more distressed finish. Adorned with three carved panels in its lower section, the cabinet is accented with semi circular motifs securing the thin wooden hinges. With its clean lines and nice patina, this Chinese Qing Dynasty 19th century ningbo cypress cabinet will bring an undeniable touch of elegance to any home, whether placed in a living room or bedroom.
