Tall 19th Century Neoclassical Palisander Cabinet

About the Item

Probably the tallest cabinet on the market. A breathtaking neoclassical palisander cabinet from the 19th century. Presumably of French origin. Solid rosewood and veneered on oak. The cabinet is architecturally structured vertically by three fluted pilasters on the lower part and half-columns on the upper part. The base cabinet has two doors and two drawers above. The high top cabinet has two doors also. The fluted pilasters of the base unit begin above the cranked base zone and end in framed acanthus flowers. Both the doors (frame + panels) and the sides are mirror-veneered. The drawer panels consist of framed friezes in a meander style. The upper cabinet with three fluted Corinthian half-columns with a shaft ring stands on the protruding, profiled and cranked cover plate of the base unit. As a sign of the special quality of this cabinet, the doors are not only veneered on the front, but also on the inside. Above the three carved Corinthian capitals begins the profiled cranked cornice, which is again adorned with a frieze of acanthus flowers. The cabinet still has the original locks, but with new keys. The high doors on the upper part close with both normal bolts and bar bolts. All doors and drawers can be opened and closed without any problems. Inside the cabinet is equipped with 4 shelves in the upper part. A matching shelf for the base cabinet is still made and is part of the purchase. The cabinet can be dismantled into several individual parts for transport.
