About the Item
This is a beautiful Vintage pair of Georgian Revival burr walnut bedside chests with slides, dating from the late 20th Century.
The chests are masterfully crafted from gorgeous burr walnut, they each have three drawers, for convenient storage, and the useful addition of a slide in each.
The drawers are ash lined, a sure sign of quality, the chests are raised on shaped braket feet and they are fitted with decorative cut card brass handles.
These chests are very versatile and would look equally good in the bedroom as bedside chests or in the lounge as end tables / chests at either end of your sofa.

Burr Walnut
refers to the swirling figure present in nearly all walnut when cut and polished, and especially in the wood taken from the base of the tree where it joins the roots. However the true burr is a rare growth on the tree where hundreds of tiny branches have started to grow. Burr walnut produces some of the most complex and beautiful figuring you can find.
