About the Item

A wonderful French Provincial walnut commode with serpentine front and conforming molded edge top, surmounting three fitted top drawers (one of which is hidden in the center), over two additional long drawers, all with original bold foliate bronze or brass hardware, a nicely shaped skirt, paneled sides, and an unfinished paneled back all supported by short cabriole splayed front feet. The commode dates to the 18th century and is in very good overall condition, with some top surface stains, a small brace repair on the back left foot, some worm damage in areas, and other imperfections and wear commensurate with age and use. Dimensions: 34.75 in H x 49.5 in W x 24.5 in D.
