18th Century French Louis XV Bombé Commode

About the Item

An 18th century French Louis XV commode, or chest of drawers, from the Bordeaux region made of solid walnut. Nice proportions with bold bombé form and serpentine front. Three dovetailed drawers with original cast bronze hardware (lower right handle repaired). No locks. Subtle carved details with large scalloped apron. Excellent craftsmanship using pegged construction. Waxed patina. Restoration on two drawers. A good solid antique with wear consistent with age and use.
